The 18th International Engineering & Technology Fair (IETF) 2009 is underway in Bengaluru. This year the special focus is on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who have been brought into the manufacturing section for product exhibition.

South Africa is partnering the event for the second time in order to achieve a bilateral trade target of US $12 billion by 2010 from the current US $6.2 billion trade. The will be represented at the event by 74 exporters across multiple sectors.

IETF 2009 event will cover 25,000 sq.m. and will house around 500 overseas participants from 25 countries. The ratio of domestic and overseas participation is 60:40.
