As declared in the India Africa Forum Summit 2008, small scale industries (SSIs) will be given priority in Africa for skill development. The Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Ashok Tomar, also mentioned ministerial plans to set up in the next few years ten vocational training centers and several technology demonstration centers in Africa.

Small Scale Industries and the agriculture industry are the focus of the program that has involvement from the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterpries.
