The strong rupee has left its mark on SME exporters as they are getting affected due to it. Indian SMEs in last couple of months have encountered problems due to increasing raw material rates, interest rates and demand crisis. So, things are getting tougher for SME exporters.

Bottom-line of SMEs is getting affected with the surging rupee according to apparel industry exporters. The profit margin has declined and SMEs are not in a position to counter the situation. Industry experts opine that Centre needs to come with programs that are conducive for SMEs.

However, the main problem arises with the rupee appreciating 7-8 % and the profit margin plummeting. Indian government needs to reinstate interest subvention by at-least 2%.
